Yaddlethorpe water levels
Yaddlethorpe Ponds Status with the flooding.
Over last week we have linked the Oasis to the Match Pond and that is keeping Oasis dry underfoot. The Cut has been re-established with the North pond and is dropping the level in the Tench & Crucian Pond. However, everything is going (as designed) into the Match Pond. The 2 electric pumps have been on non stop for over 2 months discharging into the culvert and one likely to be burnt out with over fatigue! Will seek to restore/replace early next week. The roadside path is relatively dry underfoot because we raised the path 6″ in readiness during the summer months. Usually, this path is cordoned off in this type of weather. A petrol pump is pumping out at a rate of 20kl per hour but we still not keeping up with incoming water. So far, thanks to Mac & Ian Loosemore, David Wright, Nick Craddock, Mark Palmer, Shaun Haywood who are on a rota filling up the petrol pump tank (it last 2 hours) we are managing to stay open…. just!
Photos show the Cut/North Pond is re-established after a days work excavating the road.
