Louth Canal Rule update – with immediate effect, 5th August 2025, all lure fishing is banned on the Louth Canal until 1st October. This difficult decision has been made in order to protect the pike stocks whist the canal is suffering from low water levels and warm temperatures.

Environment Agency, Auckley Weir Works on River Torne.

The Environment Agency are proposing to carry out works at Auckley Weir. These works will include partial removal of the existing weir to improve access for future maintenance, reduce health and safety risks and enhance conditions for Biodiversity. The works are scheduled to commence early to mid August. The duration of these works are anticipated to be between two to four weeks.

We will post more accurate dates and timings if and when we have them.

Clubmate is now compulsory for all SAA members

At the 2025 SAA AGM, members voted to make it a condition of membership that all members to be registered on Clubmate and to fully populate their profile. A very large majority of members are already signed up but those who aren’t will be contacted by the club. When our bailiffs come across members who show a paper membership, they will photograph the slip, ask the member to verify the details on it and then take a full face photo of the member. As long as we have a name, a photograph and a few other details on Clubmate, that is sufficient although ideally we would like members to provide an email address as that is how the club will communicate with members.

You will still be able to buy your membership through the tackle shops listed on our website.
