River Ancholme and River Rase

Following the renewal of our lease for this fishery, night fishing is NO LONGER allowed.

The statutory coarse fish closed season applies to the Rivers Ancholme & Raise (No fishing is allowed between March 15th – June 15th Inclusive)

The club leases the fishing rights on the whole length of the Ancholme from Bishopbridge to South Ferriby and on the River Rase from Bishopbridge to its confluence with the Ancholme at Snitterby Carr. Varying in depth from 2 feet (upstream) to 20 feet at South Ferriby, this fine fishery offers a wide range of species, including bream to 8lb, tench to 7lb, perch to 5lb, pike to 30lb, roach to 2lb along with eels , chub, rudd, dace, roach/bream hybrids, bleak, ruffe and gudgeon, and is suitable for a wide range of methods.

Access

There are many access points to this fishery. At the moment the What3words codes are only intended to get members to the river, they are not an indication of parking. The numbers refer to the locations on the Ancholme maps and geographically run from North to South.

  1. South Ferriby Off A1077 take the track on the west bank just before the Sluice Bridge, park near the conveyor (West bank upstream) – ///emptied.unlocking.chiefs
  2. Hawkstow Bridge is approx. 1.25 miles south of S Ferriby. From the B1204 turn onto Bridge Lane Cross the river, turning left. Park safely at the roadside. ///choppers.bunny.forks
