Good news for Juniors & match anglers
At the AGM it was agreed to create a new Intermediate membership for 18- to 20-year-olds, priced at just £40 per year with no joining fee. However, the Committee have taken it a stage further. With immediate effect, any current junior member, upon turning 18, will now be eligible for a free year’s membership, then at 19, they can continue as an Intermediate member for a further 2 years before reaching 21. At this stage they will have to pay the full adult price.
We hope that these measures will encourage young anglers to remain in the sport and in our club.
Any match anglers among you should be aware that the club offers two opportunities to fish competitively.
On Tuesdays, throughout the year, we hold members only matches at Black Bank, with the occasional visit to the North Pond at Yaddlethorpe. These are organised by Nick Craddock.
On Saturdays, through April, May and just into June, Mike Storey runs a series of Open matches on the S&K canal, with anglers meeting at the Crowle flyover car park. As the name suggests, these matches are for both members and non-members.
Later in the year Mike will arrange a series of matches on the R Ancholme.
Dates and details for these events can be found on our website, just look for the Matches pages.
